Can a Stronger Butt Really Lead to Better Orgasms

by Poosh featuring Courtney Virden

Hypertonic Pelvic Floor aka Tight Vagina and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Are you looking to improve your sex life and overall well-being? Look no further than glute exercises and pelvic floor strength. Strengthening your glutes not only contributes to a toned and shapely physique but can also positively impact your sexual experiences. In this article, we delve into the link between glute exercises, pelvic floor strength, and sexual satisfaction. Let’s explore effective workouts, highlight the significance of a strong pelvic floor, and understand how these factors can revolutionize your time in the bedroom.

The Importance of Glute Exercises

Glute exercises play a vital role in developing strong, well-defined buttocks. They target the gluteal muscles, comprising the gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus. Engaging in regular glute workouts can lead to improved muscle tone, increased strength, and enhanced overall stability. Furthermore, well-developed glutes provide better support to the pelvis, positively impacting your pelvic floor.

The Power of a Strong Pelvic Floor

The pelvic floor muscles are a group of muscles that span the area between the tailbone and pubic bone. They provide essential support to the pelvic organs, including the bladder, uterus, and rectum. A strong pelvic floor promotes better bladder control, improved core stability, and enhanced sexual function. In fact, a robust pelvic floor can lead to increased sexual pleasure and more intense orgasms for both men and women.

For optimal pelvic floor health, you will want to be doing pelvic floor exercises with both eccentric and concentric contractions. You do not want a pelvic floor that is too tight (high-tone) or low-tone. Exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor will get you a strong core and pelvic floor. For optimal core strength, you will want to strengthen the core muscles, the pelvic floor, glutes, abdominals, and lumbar spine.

Connecting Glute Strength and Sexual Well-being

The gluteal muscles and the pelvic floor are interconnected. Weak gluteal muscles often result in a weakened pelvic floor, leading to issues such as incontinence, reduced sexual sensation, and difficulty achieving orgasm. By strengthening your glutes, you can indirectly fortify your pelvic floor, enhancing its stability and functionality. Glute workouts for women can help activate the pelvic floor for some, yet many women will need a pelvic floor program, like our Restore program, for optimal pelvic floor health.

3 Effective Glute Strength Exercises

To unlock the benefits of glute exercises and improve your sexual well-being, incorporate the following workouts into your at-home routine:

1. Squats: Squats are a versatile exercise that targets the glutes and activates the pelvic floor muscles. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and lower your body, bending your knees as if sitting back in an imaginary chair. Engage your glutes and core while maintaining proper form. You can also use a resistance band for increased intensity. When your knees are bent at or close to 90 degrees, push your feet into the floor and focus on your pelvic floor, lifting up inside as you straighten out your legs. Repeat.

2. Hip Thrusts: Hip thrusts specifically target the gluteus maximus, making them highly effective for strengthening the glutes and pelvic floor. Begin by sitting on the ground with your upper back against a bench or stability ball. Place a barbell across your hips and, with your feet flat on the floor, drive your hips upward, squeezing your glutes at the top. Some like to use a hip thrust machine, but doing hip thrusts on a ball makes this move into core stability exercises.

3. Lunges: Lunges engage the glutes, hamstrings, and quadriceps, all while activating the pelvic floor muscles. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and take a step forward with your left leg, lowering your body until both knees form 90-degree angles. Push back up, engaging your glutes and core, and return to the starting position. Repeat on the right leg.  You can also do single-leg lunges and repeat several repetitions on one leg, and then switch legs.

Unlocking Sexual Satisfaction through Glute Training

By incorporating these glute exercises into your fitness routine, you can reap the rewards in the bedroom. If you have a hypertonic (too tight) pelvic floor, I recommend doing our Restore program, and once symptoms reduce or disappear, you can add these exercises into your routine. Strengthening your glutes and pelvic floor not only improves stability and overall physical function but also enhances sexual pleasure and performance. Increased pelvic floor strength can lead to more intense orgasms, improved sexual sensation, and better control over bladder function.

Investing time and effort into glute exercises and pelvic floor strength is a powerful step toward enhancing your sexual well-being. By targeting your glutes and fortifying your pelvic floor, you can achieve a more sculpted physique, improved core stability, and heightened sexual satisfaction. Incorporate exercises like squats, hip thrusts, and lunges into your fitness routine to experience the transformative benefits firsthand. Take charge of your sexual health and enjoy a more fulfilling and pleasurable sex life with the help of glute exercises and a strong pelvic floor.
